As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a Lead Technical Consultant to enhance our team. This senior role focuses on being the Design Authority for a range of innovative projects centered around RF solutions.

In this position, you will be instrumental in propelling various projects within a rapidly growing sector. By engaging closely with clients and partners, we aim to establish ourselves as the leading force in the industry.

Reporting to the Programme Chief Engineer, the Design Authority will serve as the primary source of expert guidance and direction for the team, which includes both internal engineers and external collaborators. You will also play a crucial role in mentoring the next generation of Design Authorities, overseeing engineers working on Electronic Warfare solutions for Land-Based systems and providing them with essential support.

We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, possesses strong leadership capabilities, and has extensive experience. A solid understanding of business acumen is essential to ensure that engineering efforts align with customer satisfaction and project success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Design Solution for key strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, collaborating with authorities and clients to develop technical solutions.
  • Create solution architectures that ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with User Requirements.
  • Maintain product design integrity concerning compliance, safety, and quality. Assist the team in planning for product compliance.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.
  • Provide expert advice, judgment, and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Develop the next generation of Design Authorities by enhancing team competencies.
  • Participate in monthly Board-level Project reviews to report on project status and progress.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in an engineering-related field is essential.
  • A strong background in Electronic Warfare technologies is required.
  • Chartered Engineer status or membership in a recognized Engineering or Science Professional body is advantageous.
  • Eligibility for full security clearance is mandatory.
  • Proactive and diplomatic engagement with stakeholders, with the ability to make decisive choices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of design, manufacturing, supply chain, and support capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills are crucial.
  • Experience in the defense sector is necessary.
  • Strong coaching abilities are a plus.
  • Familiarity with EW technology, RF Systems, vehicle systems integration, and high software content developments is highly desirable.
