About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Business Project Manager to join our team at CMC Markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering end-to-end strategic business projects, requiring coordination from numerous business areas to achieve a common business objective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of input into the business change roadmap for designated programmes of work, regularly updating it to ensure it accurately reflects the status of all business change projects.
  • Help instill good project management discipline through continuous process improvement, underpinned by a suitably pragmatic approach, across all business teams at CMC Markets.
  • Agree and execute suitable high-level reporting formats for designated programmes, showing key project delivery milestones and associated revenue projections, for regular circulation to Exco and the Board.
  • Work with the Finance team to align revenue and cost estimations for business change projects with the group's financial forecasts.
  • Support with line management and personal development plans for direct reports within the team.
Project Delivery
  • Work alongside the Head of Business Functions to deliver end-to-end strategic business projects requiring coordination from numerous business areas to achieve a common business objective.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues, agreeing suitable mitigation or corrective actions as needed.
  • Proactively manage project dependencies to ensure overall project timeline remains on track.
  • Identify gaps or overlaps in projects and negotiate scope adjustments not only with corresponding project managers but also with executives and sponsors.
  • Resource planning and forecasting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An experienced Programme Manager with a track record of managing multi-disciplined complex projects.
  • Previous experience as a Programme Manager or Senior Project Manager is essential.
  • Experience within Financial Services is essential.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision, taking ownership of tasks large and small.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to change.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies.

The salary for this role is estimated to be between £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
