About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Care Professional to join our team at Staffordshire County Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to adults with learning disabilities, empowering them to live independent and fulfilling lives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as a Link Worker, contributing to the development, delivery, and review of person-centred support plans.
  • Deliver excellent support, including administering medication, and promoting independence and choice.
  • Plan and deliver community outings and activities, including sensory sessions, to enhance the lives of our service users.
  • Suggest improvements and be proactive in the development of solutions and activities undertaken by the service.
Requirements
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with learning disabilities and autism, with a caring, sensitive, and patient approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate positively to service users and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage potential and actual aggression in a sensitive way, reflecting the changing needs of service users.
  • Adaptability and responsiveness to change, with a positive outlook on life.
What We Offer
  • NVQ level 2 qualification, Care Certificate, or willingness to complete.
  • Experience of working in a team, with a strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality legislation.
  • Practical knowledge of health and safety at work, with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills, with information and communication technology skills.
