About the Role

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team in Leek. As a Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 6-16 with Learning/Physical disabilities, complex health needs, and autism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children, protecting them from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide all aspects of care, including personal care, to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture within the residential setting.
  • Manage household chores, such as cleaning and laundry, to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Deal with challenging behaviors in a safe and sympathetic manner.
  • Support the children's independence and well-being by promoting their individual needs and goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the children's care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the children's lives.

Requirements

  • Be willing to carry out personal care duties.
  • Have a valid driver's license, as occasional transportation of children may be required.
  • Be an empathetic and relatable person with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Be able to commute to Leek.
