About the Role:
Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team in a Children's Residential service in Leek. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 6-16 with Learning/Physical disabilities, complex health needs, and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Safety and Well-being of Young People: Provide a safe and nurturing environment, protecting them from risks to their health and welfare.
- Personal Care and Support: Assist with all aspects of care, including personal care, and promote independence and well-being.
- Household Management: Maintain a homely and friendly culture, ensuring the home is clean and tidy, and household chores are completed.
- Behavioral Support: Safely and sympathetically manage challenging behaviors, and develop strategies to promote positive behavior.
- Communication and Teamwork: Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Personal Qualities: Be an empathetic and relatable person with good listening and communication skills, and an instinct to help others.
- Practical Skills: Be willing to carry out personal care duties and ideally have a driver's license for transporting young people.
- Location: Be able to commute to Leek.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 (depending on qualifications) PLUS plenty of overtime available.
