Role Summary

We are seeking a Youth Welfare Officer to join our Safeguarding and Pastoral Team at Ark Victoria Academy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to students and staff, promoting positive relationships and behaviours. Your expertise will help us create a safe and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

About the Role
This role involves providing individualised support to students and staff, managing behaviour effectively, and delivering group sessions or workshops to promote well-being. You will work closely with our Mental Health Lead to develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being. Key Responsibilities

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £38,000-£48,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive twice as many training days as standard, a generous pension scheme, and access to Ark Rewards, a scheme offering savings from over 3,000 major retailers. Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a post-graduate Diploma or Masters level in Counselling or Psychotherapy, specialising in working with children and adolescents. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy, patience, and reliability. A strong understanding of child development and mental health issues is essential. You will also need to be flexible, proactive, and willing to adapt your approach when necessary.
