Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Area Camden. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young people, promoting their positive development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and social support to our young people, helping them to develop meaningful relationships with others and encouraging them to become involved in their local communities.
  • Encourage and enable each young person to make positive life choices and achieve their full potential, while receiving the essential care and attention they need.
  • Responsible for recording and documenting events, observations, and progress, including updating children's files, child protection records, and health and safety checks.
  • Work closely with our team, health advisor, social workers, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.
  • Support the young people with their daily living needs, including planning, shopping, and preparing meals, while ensuring they have a varied and well-balanced diet.
Required Attributes:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following attributes:

  • A positive and proactive approach to engaging with our young people.
  • Self-motivation and a positive nature.
  • Sensitivity and reflectiveness.
  • The ability to listen and empathise with our young people.
  • Experience working in the care sector or residential care, with a relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level Diploma for Residential Childcare.
