Job Description

Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker - Night Shift

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people during night shifts
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of each child, including responding to emergencies and following procedures
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and colleagues
  • Participate in activities and bedtime routines that promote the physical, social, and emotional development of children
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports and child progress notes
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and external agencies
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification if not already held
