About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Area Camden, providing care and support to young people in our residential settings. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting the welfare and well-being of our young people, helping them to develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Provide emotional and social support to young people, helping them to build meaningful relationships with others and become involved in their local communities.
  • Encourage and enable young people to develop their self-esteem and confidence, ensuring they are respected and valued as individuals.
  • Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving levels of independence that help them reach their full potential.
  • Record and maintain accurate records of young people's progress, including daily and monthly updates, and contribute to the formulation and review of care plans.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including health advisors, social workers, therapists, and teachers, to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
  • Assist with daily living needs, including meal preparation and domestic duties, and promote a healthy and safe environment.

Required Attributes

  • Ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Self-motivation and a positive attitude.
  • Sensitivity and reflectiveness.
  • Excellent listening and empathetic skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in the care sector or residential care.
  • Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level Diploma for Residential Childcare.
  • Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.
