Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Area Camden. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential settings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and social support to young people, helping them develop meaningful relationships and encouraging their involvement in local communities.
  • Encourage and enable each young person's self-esteem to be raised in a positive manner, ensuring they are respected and valued.
  • Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving levels of independence that help them develop to their full potential.
  • Responsible for recording events and observations, including young people's daily and monthly progress, updating of children's files, and child protection records.
  • Work closely with managers, health advisors, social workers, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.

Requirements:

  • Ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive approach.
  • Self-motivated with a positive nature.
  • Sensitive and reflective.
  • Ability to listen and empathise.
  • Experience working in the care sector or residential care.
  • Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level Diploma for Residential Childcare.
