Clinical Specialist in Upper Limb Therapy

Job Summary
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and clinically experienced Upper Limb Clinical Specialist to join our expanding and supportive team. As a key member of our Upper Limb department, you will be responsible for the general management of the team and service, while assisting with service expansion via development of new care pathways and business cases.
Main Duties
- To work with the current clinical specialists in providing upper limb therapy assessment and treatment for patients following trauma and elective surgery, as well as other conditions within this specialty.
- To assist the Upper Limb clinical specialists in the management of the Upper Limb therapy team/service, including service planning, reviewing, and auditing.
- To be responsible for ensuring clinical effectiveness across the Upper limb therapy clinical specialty by utilizing evaluation and research skills.
- To provide strong clinical leadership in the provision of an effective, high-quality, Upper limb therapy Service for patients.
- To lead and support audit and research projects in order to evaluate service delivery.
- To be responsible for the education, training, and development of upper limb therapy staff across the OPD section, in particular, and the whole service in general.

Person Specification
- Appropriate Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy or professional qualification (MCSP/BSc or MSc).
- Registration with Health Care Professions Council.
- CSP/RCOT or equivalent professional registration.
- Evidence of commitment to advanced clinical and non-clinical continued professional development within own specialty, post-registration training, management/Leadership competencies, and evidence of a detailed personal development portfolio.
- Evidence of working at 'M' level as demonstrated by ongoing CPD/post-registration MSc.
- Relevant, accredited, postgraduate education/courses pertinent to Upper Limb Therapy.
