We are seeking an experienced and innovative physiotherapist to join our team as a Clinical Specialist Neurophysiotherapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the stroke service at Heartlands Hospital and working closely with ACP and medical colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have extensive clinical experience in stroke rehabilitation at an advanced level and be able to lead and influence others. They will also have well-developed leadership and management skills, with experience of staff management, education, and clinical training.
The role will involve carrying a clinical caseload, providing robust clinical leadership to the in-patient stroke therapy team, and working with senior colleagues to facilitate the delivery of appropriate care planning.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. They will also have a strong understanding of clinical governance, quality, audit, and risk management.
Main Duties and Tasks- To carry a clinical caseload and work at an advanced level of clinical practice for stroke patients, particularly at the front door.
- To provide robust clinical leadership to the in-patient stroke therapy team, delivering care for stroke patients.
- To work with senior colleagues in nursing and medicine to facilitate the delivery of appropriate care planning.
- To participate in aspects relating to neurology and stroke therapy services, providing expert clinical advice and guidance.
- Appropriate professional qualification, e.g. MCSP/BSc or MSc.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
- CSP professional registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in stroke rehabilitation, with experience of staff management, education, and clinical training.
- Working at 'M' level, with ongoing CPD and post-registration MSc.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality, audit, and risk management.
- Ability to lead and influence others.
