About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Teaching Specialist to join our team at the Birmingham School of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. As a key member of our teaching faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of dental professionals.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled clinician to join our team as a Clinical Teaching Specialist. You will be responsible for supervising and assessing undergraduate students in the pre-clinical and clinical aspects of dental hygiene and therapy.

You will work closely with our academic staff to develop and deliver teaching programs that meet the needs of our students and ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their careers.

Main Duties
  • Supervise and assess undergraduate students in the pre-clinical and clinical aspects of dental hygiene and therapy.
  • Develop and deliver teaching programs that meet the needs of our students.
  • Work closely with our academic staff to ensure seamless delivery of our teaching programs.
  • Assess and provide feedback to students on their performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments.
Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BDS/BChD or equivalent qualification.
  • Substantial experience in dental hygiene and therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to teach and assess students.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in dental education.
