Senior Clinical Lead for Dementia Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Senior Clinical Lead for Dementia Care at Barts Health NHS Trust. About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of dementia care pathways across the trust, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care, treatment, and support throughout their hospital journey. You will specialize in the care of people with dementia and delirium, demonstrating a willingness to develop expertise in providing specialist advice and support to ward teams, patients, and their carers.

As a Senior Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in the delivery of the trust's Dementia Education Programme, providing training and evaluating training programmes. You will also participate in clinical audits and research within the specialist area, contributing to the embedding of KPI targets and NICE Quality standards across the trust.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dementia care pathways across the trust
  • Provide specialist advice and support to ward teams, patients, and their carers
  • Lead the delivery of the trust's Dementia Education Programme
  • Participate in clinical audits and research within the specialist area
  • Embed KPI targets and NICE Quality standards across the trust

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered nursing qualification (General or Mental Health)
  • Relevant experience at Band 5 or above
  • Experience of caring for people with dementia in the acute setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of people with dementia and their carers during an acute hospital admission
  • Demonstrated awareness of research and evidence-based practice
  • Commitment to quality initiatives, e.g., Trust Dementia Strategy, National Dementia Strategy, KPI
