About the Role

Children North East is a leading children's charity in the North East region, dedicated to supporting the well-being and development of babies, children, and young people. We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Development Lead to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance our external participation, consultation, and research work, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals.
  • Lead the development of our internal voice offer, providing a platform for babies, children, young people, and families to share their experiences and perspectives.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Development Director to design and deliver training programs, leveraging our expertise to support organizations across the North East region.
  • Conduct thorough research on potential new areas of work, identifying current issues and trends affecting babies, children, and young people, and developing strategic recommendations.
  • Drive the implementation of our regional development initiatives, working closely with the Operations Director and Operational Development Director to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Partner with the Policy team to influence and drive forward our policy and campaign work, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Proven experience in regional development, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of the North East region and its communities, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing babies, children, and young people.
