About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at Powys Teaching Health Board. As a key member of our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality assessment and rehabilitation services to patients in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner managing patients with highly specialized complex needs in a variety of care settings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, Consultants, Nurses, and other Allied Health Professionals, to provide expert patient-centered MSK care.
  • Provide training, education, supervision, and appraisal for staff and students.
  • Contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery.
  • Support the research and innovation agenda through participating in research and development activities.
  • Lead aspects of service evaluation with an emphasis on value-based care and complex audit within your area.
  • Work in partnership with service users and staff to achieve improved health outcomes for service users and develop clinical pathways.
About Us

Powys Teaching Health Board is responsible for meeting the health and wellbeing needs of the people of Powys, mid Wales. As a rural health board with around 133,000 people living across an area that is a quarter of Wales, we provide as many services as possible locally. This is mainly through GPs and other primary care services, community hospitals, and community services. We work closely with other organizations in Wales and England to provide services for the people of Powys.

Requirements
  • BSc (Hons)/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Advanced accredited training at Masters level or equivalent
  • Accredited postgraduate specialist courses/training relevant to the role
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate qualification up to postgraduate diploma level in a relevant area
  • MSc within a relevant specialty
  • Injection therapy qualification
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • Competency as a non-medical referrer
  • Relevant leadership courses/qualifications
Essential Experience
  • Significant postgraduate experience
  • Significant experience of managing a complex caseload working within a relevant specialty
  • Experience in multi-agency team working within a specialist area
  • Evidence of supporting clinical governance requirements, including codes of conduct
  • Leadership of relevant networks/practice groups
