About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at Powys Teaching Health Board. As a key member of our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Services team, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced musculoskeletal assessment and treatment services to patients across Mid and South Powys.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work as an autonomous practitioner managing patients with complex and highly specialised needs in various care settings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, Consultants, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals, to provide expert patient-centred MSK care.
  • Provide training, education, supervision, and appraisal for staff and students.
  • Contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery.
  • Support research and innovation by participating in research and development activities.
  • Lead aspects of service evaluation, focusing on value-based care and complex audits within your area.
  • Work in partnership with service users and staff to achieve improved health outcomes and develop clinical pathways.

Requirements

  • BSc (Hons)/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Advanced accredited training at Masters level or equivalent
  • Accredited postgraduate specialist courses/training relevant to the role
  • Significant postgraduate experience, including managing a complex caseload within a relevant speciality
  • Experience in multi-agency team working within a specialist area
  • Leadership of relevant networks/practice groups
  • Experience in audit and service evaluation
  • Experience in research
  • Experience in staff development, including education and supervision

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification up to postgraduate diploma level in a relevant area
  • MSc within a relevant specialty
  • Injection therapy qualification
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • Competency as a non-medical referrer
  • Relevant leadership courses/qualifications
