About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our South Powys Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy team as a Team Lead and Clinical Specialist. The successful candidate will have a strong background in MSK physiotherapy and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line management of the South Powys MSK Physiotherapy team, including managing ESR, expenses, appraisals and performance management of staff, as required.
  • Liaising with Head of Physiotherapy, service improvement manager and admin team lead to support waiting list management.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner managing a MSK caseload, including more complex cases as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other professions GPs, Consultants, Nurses and other AHPs to provide expert patient centred musculoskeletal care.
  • Provide training, education, supervision and appraisal for staff and students.
  • Contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery.
  • Support the research and innovation agenda through participating in research and development activity.
  • Lead aspects of service evaluation with an emphasis on value-based care and audit.
  • Work in partnership with service users and staff to achieve improved health outcomes for service users and develop clinical pathways.

Requirements

  • BSc Hons/equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Relevant postgraduate training at Masters Level or equivalent
  • Extensive postgraduate experience with significant experience at a Senior level
  • Experience of taking responsibility and managing complex caseloads
  • Experience of clinical supervision of junior staff and students
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application
  • Documented evidence of CPD

Desirable

  • Members of CSP
  • Appropriate Clinical Educator Course Membership of appropriate clinical specialist interest group.
  • Experience of audit procedures
  • Leadership and first line management experience
  • Supervision of junior staff and students
  • Experience of a range of health settings

Language

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
