Job Summary

Kent County Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to lead our West Kent Occupational Therapy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supervising and developing a large team of Occupational Therapists, Assessment Officers, and Apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the West Kent Occupational Therapy team, providing day-to-day supervision and oversight.
  • Manage complex casework and experience of major adaptations and specialist equipment.
  • Supervise and develop both qualified and unqualified staff.
  • Communicate effectively, negotiate, and work in partnership with others to ensure good outcomes.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, and be available for community visits as needed.

Our Offer

  • Starting salary of £43,810.
  • Recruitment payment of £3000 (subject to eligibility).

About the Role

As a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Health and Housing colleagues to ensure people receive the right service at the right time. Our Occupational Therapists use a creative and diverse toolkit to enable people to find solutions to achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • Wide-ranging post-qualifying experience across health and/or social care.
  • Ability to manage complex casework and experience of major adaptations and specialist equipment.
  • Experience of supervising and developing both qualified and unqualified staff.
  • Sound risk management and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, and work in partnership with others.
