Job Summary

Kent County Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to lead our West Kent South OT Team. As a key member of our Occupational Therapy workforce, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients to live independent and fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a large Occupational Therapy team, comprising of OTs, OT Assessment Officers, and OT Apprentices.
  • Supervise and develop both qualified and unqualified staff, ensuring high-quality care and support for our clients.
  • Manage complex casework, including major adaptations and specialist equipment, and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Work closely with our Health and Housing colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and effective partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, productivity, and client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Post-qualifying experience in Occupational Therapy, with a strong background in leadership and management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-working skills.
  • Ability to manage complex casework and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Experience of supervising and developing staff, with a focus on continuous professional development.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of Occupational Therapy in supporting clients to live independent and fulfilling lives.
