About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Arts and Creative Industry Specialist to join our team in Cardiff, Wales. As a key member of our Arts team, you will play a vital role in delivering a diverse portfolio of arts and creative industry programmes funded by the British Council.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the arts and creative industries in Wales, as well as experience in managing arts projects and liaising with multiple stakeholders and partners.

The role requires excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing arts projects and programmes, managing finances, and building relationships with sector partners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to planning process for Wales' arts portfolio, considering the role of digital products, services, and channels in optimising impact and sustainability.
  • Develop and implement effective financial management and compliance processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sector partners and stakeholders, including artists, creative professionals, and arts organizations.
  • Represent the British Council at external meetings and events, promoting the diversity of Wales' arts and creative industries sector overseas.

Requirements:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Good understanding of the arts & creative industries and arts policy in Wales.
  • At least 3 years' experience of working in the arts and/or creative industries sector.
  • Experience of managing arts projects and liaison with multiple stakeholders and partners.

Salary: £30,839 per annum. The successful candidate will also receive a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
