Counter Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Counter Manager to join our team at The Ordinary in John Lewis, Oxford Street. As a Counter Manager, you will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing employee relations, sales, merchandising, customer experience, and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of staff to achieve sales and operational targets
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to maximize sales and profitability
  • Manage scheduling, counter requirements, and operational costs to ensure store profitability
  • Ensure compliance with company requirements and standards
  • Coach and counsel staff to improve performance and customer service
  • Communicate with the Area Sales Manager to address customer complaints and feedback
  • Manage stock, supplies, and visual merchandising to maintain a high-quality store environment
  • Provide excellent customer service, educating customers about beauty and skincare products
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, company information, and launches

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of management experience in fragrance, beauty, fashion, or luxury goods sectors
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with relevant education or work experience
