We are a leading provider of fire and security solutions across the UK, committed to delivering high-quality services and building long-term relationships with our clients. We're now seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team and take on the challenge of managing complex projects from start to finish.
Job Summary
This role requires a skilled Project Engineer to oversee small and large projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and quality. The successful candidate will have excellent technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring effective resource allocation, cost control, and timely completion.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that meet their expectations.
- Lead a team of engineers and subcontractors, allocating tasks, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Manage project budgets, processing cost sheets, and labor requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
- Ensure all engineering paperwork is accurate and up-to-date, and commissioning is completed correctly post-project.
- Contribute to the development of employee skills and knowledge through training and coaching.
- Manage job profitability, reporting to the project manager, and controlling health and safety on-site.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of systems and minor works when required.
- Maintain Marlowe quality and HSE standards at all times.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the fire and security industry, preferably in project management or a related field.
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of major systems and projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding creative solutions.
