Account Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team at Reed. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our freight forwarder customers, negotiating contract rates, and closing agreements to benefit our partner airlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company professionally, maintaining high standards and brand values at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts within the freight forwarder network to close sales and regularly visit key contacts with opportunities.
  • Agree on contractual rates with UK customers to improve market shares and work closely with the Sales Planning Manager to maximise margins and drive yield improvements.
  • Analyse customer/market intelligence to target new business effectively.
  • Ensure weekly sales reporting is completed and call plans are kept up to date.
  • Assist with covering reservations and internal sales emails during peak times or when team members are off.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar sales role.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills.
  • Ability to analyse market intelligence and sales data.
  • Proficient in creating reports and managing databases.
