About the Role:

Rullion, in partnership with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), is seeking an experienced Security Officer to join the JET Decommissioning Team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and successful decommissioning of the JET project, a landmark achievement in nuclear fusion research.

The ideal candidate will monitor alarms, conduct regular patrols, and communicate essential ventilation alarms for the JET facilities. Their vigilance and proactive communication will play a pivotal role in ensuring the secure decommissioning of the JET project.

  1. Alarm Monitoring: Regularly oversee and monitor alarms related to site security and ventilation systems, identifying and responding to potential issues quickly and effectively.
  2. Routine Patrols: Conduct routine patrols within the JET facility, verifying that all safety protocols are in place and maintained.
  3. Shift Coverage: Work a 4-on, 4-off rotating shift pattern, which includes 12-hour shifts alternating between days (7 am - 7 pm) and nights (7 pm - 7 am), covering key holidays including Christmas and New Year's Day.
What We're Looking For:
  1. Attention to Detail: The selected candidate must be able to identify and respond to critical monitoring issues promptly and efficiently.
  2. Physical and Mental Resilience: Ability to work in 12-hour shifts, including night rotations, maintaining focus and efficiency throughout.
  3. Experience in Security Roles: Previous experience in a security role, preferably in a high-sensitivity environment, is highly desirable.
