Nuclear Operations Capability Leader

An exciting opportunity has become available within National Nuclear Laboratory's (NNL) Nuclear Operations Capability. We are seeking a high-calibre, motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Safety, Security and Human Factors Leader.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Understand and comply with all relevant standards and expectations in relation to EHSSQ and Nuclear Professionalism.
  • Delivery of projects, programmes and technical work, including alignment of resources to meet short- and medium-term strategic and project requirements.
  • Staff leadership, performance, SQEP development, technical training, progression and recruitment.
  • Liaising with customers to deliver value and build a customer-centric culture.
  • Controlling staff costs, including recruitment, training, progression, T&S and R&R.
  • Ensuring quality, cost and time delivery execution.
  • Developing the function in line with business requirements and recognising technical advancements.
Essential Criteria:
  • Significant nuclear knowledge and experience to understand most aspects of safety, security and human factors.
  • Experience in managing several technical capabilities, people, facilities and equipment across nuclear and non-nuclear sites.
  • Experience in developing relationships with customers related to technical capability offerings and support delivery of their projects.
  • Operational experience in highly regulated environments, managing technical and facility programmes to a high EHSS&Q standard.
  • Leadership experience and ability to drive cultural change through strategic business developments.
  • Ability to obtain SC-level security clearance.
