About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mortuary Manager to lead our Mortuary and Bereavement Services in BCUHB. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of our mortuary services, ensuring that we provide high-quality care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of mortuary staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to provide excellent care and service.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that our mortuary services are delivered in accordance with best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with our bereavement services team to ensure that we provide a comprehensive and compassionate service to our patients and their families.
  • Manage and maintain our mortuary facilities and equipment, ensuring that they are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our mortuary services.
  • Work closely with our medical and nursing teams to ensure that our mortuary services are integrated with our clinical services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience and qualifications.
  • Significant experience working as a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist (APT).
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of current mortuary practice and regulatory requirements.
