Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mortuary Manager to lead our Regional Mortuary Service in BCUHB. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the mortuary and bereavement services, ensuring the highest standards of care and compassion for our patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of mortuary and bereavement staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care and service delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to improve service efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff, coroners, and police, to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of allocated funds and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including the Human Tissue Authority Licence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mortuary and bereavement services management, with a strong track record of leadership and team management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh.
