About the Role

This is a senior leadership position within our Sales function, responsible for driving business growth and development through strategic sales initiatives. The successful candidate will lead a team of sales professionals to achieve revenue targets and expand our presence in the apprenticeship market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the strategy team to create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that drives revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective goals, providing ongoing training and development to enhance performance and drive results.
  • Sales Forecasting and Planning: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to develop sales forecasts and plans, monitoring sales metrics and performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, understanding their needs and preferences to deliver tailored solutions and exceed expectations.
  • Product Knowledge and Promotion: Stay updated on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages, effectively communicating product value propositions to customers and supporting marketing efforts to drive awareness and demand.
  • Sales Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, implementing best practices and leveraging technology to streamline operations and maximize productivity.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Recruitment, Finance, and Marketing, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives, providing regular updates and reports to senior management on sales performance, initiatives, and challenges.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation, informing strategic decision-making and staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences.
  • Commission Reports: Work with the Finance and Operations teams to produce, monitor, and approve monthly commission reports across the sales department, ensuring 100% accuracy and punctuality.
  • Future Manager and Leader Development: Grow the current team structure to include a Recruitment Manager, Client Success Manager, and the Head of Partnerships, developing future managers and leaders within the organization.
  • ROI Analysis: Measure and analyze ROI on all marketing activity to produce reports and support data-driven decisions.
  • Culture Development: Further develop and maintain the company culture and values of Teaching Personnel.
Requirements
  • Strategic Business Driver: A passionate and results-oriented individual with a strong background in sales and business development, particularly in the FE sector.
  • Strong Sales Background: Experience in long- and mid-term strategies to drive sales growth, with a proven track record of success in the FE sector.
  • Natural Leader: A natural leader who inspires teams and collaborates cross-functionally, with strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Team Management: Experience in managing a sales team of at least 20 people nationally, with a proven track record of growth and revenue expansion.
  • Enterprise Sales: A track record of acquiring large Enterprise B2B customers, with experience in setting up sales processes from scratch.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Extremely analytical and data-driven in approach to sales, with a strong understanding of market trends and customer preferences.
