Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Governing Body at SGOSS - Governors for Schools as a Chair of Governors. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Governing Body in setting the school's strategic direction and working collaboratively with the Head Teacher and Senior Management Team to drive school improvement.

Responsibilities
  1. Set the school's strategic direction in collaboration with the Head Teacher and Senior Management Team
  2. Develop and implement plans for school improvement
  3. Monitor and evaluate the school's progress against its improvement plan
  4. Manage the school's budget effectively
  5. Appoint senior members of staff including the Head Teacher
Requirements

You will need to be over 18 and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of working in an educational setting would be beneficial but is not essential. You must be able to commit to attending regular Governing Body meetings and be willing to take on additional responsibilities as required.

Salary

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £25,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
