About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Lawyer to join our team in the East of England. As a key member of our public sector legal services provider, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on planning, development, highways, and corporate governance matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert legal advice on planning, large-scale development, highways, and corporate matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and protect client interests.
- Negotiating complex projects involving diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, the third sector, and charitable organisations.
- Supporting clients to understand their legal needs and delivering high-quality service.
- Developing junior team members through mentorship and guidance.
- Delivering legal training to enhance client knowledge and self-sufficiency.
- Ensuring adherence to internal practice management systems, including time recording, billing, and compliance with SRA and Lexcel standards.
About You:
- Significant experience in planning law, particularly in the public sector.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in mentoring or managing legal staff.
- A keen eye for identifying business development opportunities.
- Qualifications as a solicitor, legal executive, or equivalent, with a focus on planning law.
