We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Skills Worker to join our team at Essex County Council. As an Advanced Skills Worker, you will play a vital role in providing nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma, supporting and caring for them as a parent would.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma
- Support and care for children as a parent would
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support children to develop the skills and resilience to return to their families or onto longer-term care
- Line manage a team of staff, providing guidance and regular supervision to enable them to support children/young people to meet agreed outcomes and achieve their full potential
- Manage challenges with a calm and patient demeanor, using a range of de-escalation techniques
- Have effective written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a Children's Home or transferrable line management experience
- Essential to have a Level 3 Diploma or be willing to complete this within 2 years of starting employment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
