At BluePearl Pet Hospital, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care department in Rochester, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using proper technique and equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography, including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarians to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Calculate medical math, administer medications via appropriate routes and duration, and perform phlebotomy and intravenous catheter placement.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Mentor and train co-workers, addressing client concerns with patience and empathy.
