We are seeking a skilled and compassionate emergency veterinary technician to join our dynamic team at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Rochester, MN. As an emergency veterinary technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to critically ill and injured patients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, utilizing anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography, utilizing proper technique and patient positioning.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
  • Initiate CPR in patients at risk of arrest.
  • Calculate medical math, administering medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Mentor and train colleagues, demonstrating patience and empathy in addressing client concerns.
