About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Doncaster team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise to engineering and project teams delivering rail vehicle enhancement projects and component overhaul services.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce designs, including but not limited to, design layouts, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Review engineering drawings and documents.
- Provide risk evaluation, assessment, and mitigation evidence for mechanical safety hazards.
- Support investigations into failures of mechanical systems and components, determine root cause, and present findings.
- Determine and submit cost estimates for undertaking in-house and bought-in engineering services.
- Interface with external and internal customers on engineering project progress and issues.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Experience working in design or commissioning and maintenance of mechanical systems or components.
- Experience in the specification, design, testing, maintenance, and failure investigation of mechanical systems and components.
- Experience in the use of Mechanical CAD systems.
