Welding Quality Assurance Engineer

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for ensuring that quality management protocols and engineering standards are effectively implemented, sustained, and followed throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising welding and quality assurance activities across various sites in the UK. This position will necessitate travel and may require extended periods away from home.
Conducting office-based tasks that involve reviewing contract specifications, technical drawings, and welding criteria.
Performing welding inspections and overseeing quality control measures for all site-related operations. Engaging with clients, engineers, and subcontracted technicians (such as NDT and heat treatment specialists) to promote collaboration and ensure the successful execution of projects.
Providing assistance to supervisors, engineers, and management teams across the organization.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Supporting site management teams with welding quality assurance tasks, including inspections, monitoring, material traceability, and the preparation of detailed quality documentation.
- Auditing the quality assurance documentation of subcontractors.
- Conducting investigations into non-conformances and suggesting corrective measures.
- Maintaining a satisfactory quality interface throughout the supply chain.
- Collaborating with various divisions within the organization to address quality-related challenges.
Required Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.2 certification.
- IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
- NVQ Level 4 or higher in Engineering Construction or an equivalent qualification.
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Welding and Fabrication.
- IWS or EWS certification.
- ISO 9001 Quality Auditor certification.
