Senior Mental Health Specialist with Leadership Opportunities

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team for the West of Norfolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior mental health specialist to take on leadership roles, support the management of people with complex needs, and provide clinical leadership and advice. The post holder will be based in Kings Lynn but also have the flexibility to work across the county.

The successful candidate will be part of a well-established team, working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care. They will have the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge, and experience, as well as contribute to the development of the team and services.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for leading primarily the west of Norfolk and providing clinical leadership and advice to the crisis pathway in the south and central areas. You will also be involved in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the trust.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and advice to the crisis pathway in the south and central areas
  • Leading primarily the west of Norfolk
  • Supporting the management of people with complex needs
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Entry on the GMC Register
  • Approved clinician status
  • Section 12(2) Approval under the Mental Health Act
  • Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
  • 3 years or equivalent medical experience
  • 6 months experience in relevant clinical area
  • Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex mental illnesses
