Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our Adult Mental Health Service. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with complex needs, providing clinical leadership, advice, and support.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can lead primarily in the west of Norfolk and provide secondary support to the crisis pathway in the south and central areas. You will be based at Chatterton Centre, which houses Samphire acute admission ward, the West Norfolk CMHT, and outpatient services serving the west and the Care Group leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include leading the West CRHT team, working closely with the Mental Health Liaison Services at all acute hospitals county-wide, and providing senior supervision to the crisis pathway. You will also contribute to the development of hub-and-spoke models to ensure senior supervision is always available where needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have
  • entry on the GMC Register
  • approved clinician status
  • Section 12(2) Approval under the Mental Health Act
  • Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
and at least 3 years of medical experience, with 6 months in a relevant clinical area. You should demonstrate effective teamworking, leadership qualities, flexibility, and a driving license. A clear understanding of Clinical Governance and commitment to open review of practice are essential. Experience in supervising junior medical staff, teaching, and presentation skills are also required.
