Doctoral Level Training Programme External Examiner

We are looking for a qualified clinical psychologist to join our team as an external examiner for our three-year, full-time doctoral-level training programme in Clinical Psychology. Our programme has been accredited and approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), respectively.

The ideal candidate will have systemic family therapy qualifications, AFT accreditation, and an occupation as a clinical psychologist. Prior experience as an External Examiner is preferred, but not required. We welcome applications from candidates with relevant educational and professional backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and provide feedback on student coursework, particularly for modules HS639, HS764, HS771, HS772, HS774, HS775, HS783, and HS784.
  • Review and comment on the annual External Examiner's Report to ensure academic standards and achievements of students are comparable with those in other HEIs.
  • Engage with the programme team in the continuous development of the programmes, including providing recommendations on assessment processes and subject benchmarks.

The estimated salary range for this position is £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. As an External Examiner, you will contribute to the quality assurance of our programmes and help shape the future of clinical psychology education.
