Personal Education Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd as a Personal Education Plan (PEP) Coordinator. This is a 5-month contract, with the possibility of extension, and requires a strong understanding of the educational rights of children looked after by local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To champion the educational rights of all children looked after by local authorities, with the aim of improving their school experience and academic outcomes.
  • To work collaboratively with social workers, schools, and other professional colleagues to ensure that all children looked after have regular and meaningful PEP meetings focused on raising academic achievement and attainment.
  • To facilitate small group training and provide telephone support for social workers and designated teachers using the ePEP system, a specialist database for the creation and recording of PEPs.
  • To ensure that the PEP database is up-to-date and accurate, adding and deleting users as required.
  • To coordinate and support the Virtual School team in providing robust quality assurance of PEPs, ensuring that all statutory duties are being met.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating the same level of applied knowledge in researching, analysing and evaluating arguments and information.
  • Experience of working within or alongside colleagues in education or children's social care.
  • A valid driving license and a willingness to drive between local authority centres.
