About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Development Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in developing and facilitating education programs for Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the development of education programs for HCSWs, including coordinating education activities and assessments of learning.
  • Work alongside clinical educators to facilitate the development of education programs and ensure that HCSWs receive high-quality training and support.
  • Provide clinical expertise and support to HCSWs in practice, including monitoring and supporting Band 3 HCSW Education Facilitators.
  • Manage and facilitate the recruitment and induction processes of HCSWs new to the Trust, ensuring that they receive a comprehensive induction and are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Monitor and be responsible for ensuring that all Trust HCSWs successfully complete the mandatory National Care Certificate standards.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • First-level registered nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK) registration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Practice Assessor or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing learners (face-to-face, blended, e-learning).
  • Experience of working in a role developing practice.
