About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to work within our Adult Service, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and collaborating closely with Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust, Virgin Care and Health, and other agencies to deliver exceptional results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of the AMHP service for Bath & North East Somerset's People and Communities Services and undertake Mental Health Act assessments.
  • To participate in staff development programs and promote specialist skills.
  • To coordinate assessments under the Mental Health Act, including multi-agency liaison with doctors, police, ambulance, and other services.
  • To consult with Nearest Relatives and advise on rights and outcomes of assessments.
  • To identify carer needs and refer them for formal assessment (if agreed by the carer).
  • To advise detained individuals on their rights.
  • To maintain a portfolio recording Mental Health Act assessments and personal development.
  • To take responsibility for personal development needs through training and supervision.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Social Work Qualification or equivalent, be registered with Social Work England, and have a commitment to ongoing professional development.
