Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a member of our award-winning team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health services to children and young people with complex needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a professional mental health qualification, experience in managing a complex caseload, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with children, young people, and their families to provide evidence-based treatment and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive mental health services to children and young people with complex needs
  • Manage a defined caseload and provide expert assessment and treatment
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary teamwork and provide supervision/consultation/advice to others

Our Crisis service operates between 9am and 10pm, 7 days per week, for unplanned crisis care and between 9am and 8pm (Monday-Friday) and 9am and 5pm (Sat/Sun/BH) for planned appointments.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional mental health qualification (e.g., RMN, Social Work Degree, BSc/Diploma in OT, SROT, or equivalent)
  • Recognised qualification in evidence-based therapeutic mental health interventions for children/young people and their families/carers
  • Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload and working with children/young people presenting with a range of complex mental health presentations

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
