Duties and Responsibilities- Patient Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patients' mental health needs and develop tailored care plans that promote positive outcomes.
- Medication Management: Administer medications safely and effectively, monitoring patient responses to ensure adherence to prescribed treatments.
- Emotional Support: Provide empathetic support and counselling to patients and their families, fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes emotional well-being.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare professionals to implement treatment strategies, evaluate patient progress, and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
- PMVA certification is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of patient care principles and practices, particularly in mental health settings.
- Anatomy and physiology knowledge relevant to mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Able to work effectively within a team while demonstrating initiative in patient care.
