Job Description

As Clinical Governance Strategist, you will lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Clinical Governance Strategy (including audit and outcomes), Quality Strategy, and Quality & Governance Framework for the Trust in line with Trust objectives and priorities.

You will work collaboratively with the clinical directorates and corporate services to develop a Trust-wide work programme for quality improvement, including quality priorities, metrics, and communications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To lead on the development and implementation of quality strategies that align with the Trust's objectives and priorities;
  • To oversee the development and maintenance of quality policies and procedures that meet the Trust's compliance obligations;
  • To collaborate with clinical directorates and corporate services to identify and address quality improvement opportunities;
  • To lead on the analysis and interpretation of quality data to inform strategic decisions;
  • To develop and implement plans to address quality gaps and improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced senior manager who has a background in clinical governance and quality improvement. The successful candidate will have:

  • A registered clinical profession qualification (e.g., Midwife/Nurse/Physiotherapist/Radiographer);
  • Evidence of significant Continuing Professional Development in related specialty;
  • Experience of working as a senior manager (Band 8+) in the NHS; and
  • Experience of managing staff.
