HR Director Role Summary

The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. They will lead a team of HR professionals and work closely with the Exec team and senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Provide professional leadership, support and development to the HR team, in order to increase knowledge, share best practice and ensure professional standards are met.
  • Provide expert professional advice to Exec team and senior management in all areas of HR, including recruitment, learning and development, employment law, HR policy, best practice and employee engagement.
  • Oversee the development of effective employment policies in consultation with the Exec team and employees as appropriate.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction of best fit candidates.
  • Ensure the ongoing review and improvement of the company's occupational health, employee programmes, employee benefits and packages.
  • Lead a focus on employee development including but not limited to the company Step Up talent development programme, and the annual training programme.
  • Oversee and lead the annual performance appraisal system, ensuring it drives high performance and identifies development needs, and that employee training requirements are well managed.
  • Support the Exec team in the development and implementation of succession planning.
  • Analyse and review HR metrics to identify trends, inform decisions and make positive change.
  • Monitor and implement the plan for diversity, equality, and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy and commitments.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by working with the HR Manager in addressing complex grievances, disciplinary matters or other issues.
  • Ensure the efficient management of the annual HR budget.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of HR strategy and commercial insight, recruitment, engagement, cultural change, pay, reward and recognition, welfare, learning and development, HR systems and budgets.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience of embedding HR practices that drive people and performance excellence.
  • The ability to analyse and review HR data to identify trends.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Psychology, or Business-related subject preferred.
