The Duke of York's Royal Military School seeks a skilled Medical Centre Lead Clinician to oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality healthcare services to approximately 500 full-time boarding students. The role requires operational hours during term-time and collaboration with partner agencies to ensure continuity of healthcare during school holidays, plus dedicated health screenings and care planning for newly enrolled students.

As the Medical Centre Lead Clinician, you will supervise a team comprising nurses, administrators, and medical retainers to deliver comprehensive health and wellbeing services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising staff, conducting performance appraisals, and managing performance
  • Identifying training needs, ensuring quality assurance through audits and assessments, addressing incidents promptly, and managing resources efficiently
  • Advising on protocol development, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and supporting staff wellbeing
  • Liaising with local GP services to enhance accessibility, managing complaints effectively, and ensuring compliance with data protection and health regulations

The ideal candidate should have a Registered General Nurse qualification with live NMC registration, experience of performance appraisal and supervision, Specialist Community Public Health (SN) qualification, and experience working in an emergency environment (Urgent treatment Centre/A&E department). Experience of working with young people is also essential.

This permanent contract includes 4 weeks of holiday working and offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. The shifts may range from 0700 to 2200 Monday to Sunday.
