Deputy Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our team as a Deputy Manager in a brand new children's residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.

Job Overview

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, budgets, and ensuring the quality of services provided meets expected care standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
  • Support the manager and team in managing staff teams, budgets, and ensuring the quality of services provided.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly culture and environment in the homes.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Ensure the safety of young people and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
  • Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in young people's lives.
  • Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker/Team Leader in a similar social care setting or with Young People.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role, you may be required to transport young people.
  • Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge.
