We are seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our team as a Deputy Manager in a BRAND NEW children\u2019s residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.
The Deputy Manager will be responsible for supporting the Manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, budgets, and ensuring the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Children\u2019s Support Worker/Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People, and hold a Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent.
The successful candidate will also hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role, and have knowledge of Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To support the Manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual\u2019s; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people\u2019s lives such as Psychologists.
- Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.
- Experience as a Children\u2019s Support Worker/Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People ESSENTIAL
- Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent ESSENTIAL
- Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people ESSENTIAL
- Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge ESSENTIAL
