We are seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our team as a Deputy Manager in a BRAND NEW children\u2019s residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.

The Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting the Manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, budgets, and ensuring the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.

The successful candidate will have experience as a Children\u2019s Support Worker/Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People, and hold a Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent.

The role offers a competitive salary of £36,504 per annum, plus benefits including free meals whilst on shift, casual dress code, bonus scheme, blue light discount, 28 days annual leave allowance, overtime availability, and opportunities to complete further NVQ qualifications in Children & Young People.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • To support the Manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual\u2019s; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people\u2019s lives such as Psychologists.
  • Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children\u2019s Support Worker/Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People ESSENTIAL
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent ESSENTIAL
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people ESSENTIAL
  • Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge ESSENTIAL
